Start with the people you serve
Before listing your programs, describe the people or community your organization supports. Use familiar words and a concrete description of the need. Someone meeting you for the first time should be able to explain your work to a friend.
Connect your work to its purpose
Try this starting point: “We help [people or community] with [need] through [your work].” It is a prompt, not a script. Refine it until it sounds natural, then use the same central message on your website, in introductions, and in outreach.
Offer one clear next step
Decide what you want the reader to do next. That might be learning about a program, asking about volunteering, or starting a partnership conversation. Make that action easy to find and explain what happens after someone takes it.
Listen before polishing
Ask someone unfamiliar with your organization to read your introduction. Can they tell you who you help and how? Their questions can reveal where a simpler sentence or a specific example would make your message clearer.
